This is another work I am submitting for the Wacom's Bring Your Visions To Life Contest. Details- [link]
I have been painting this one for a while and it really does show my longing to be "somebody else" for a while - to be an actress, which has been my dream ever since I remember.
I've had this idea ever since I watched "Pirates of the Carribean". I thought it would be cool to either be a pirate or play one in a movie. Since it's quite hard to get to the movies I've decided to paint my autoportrait as a pirate myself - at least that much I could do about my dream. Although I'd love it to come true one day No wait.... It WILL come true one day - I WILL be an actress - yes, that's a good plan!
So... That's what I'd be like - brave, fearless witty - "the one and only sister of Captain Jack Sparrow" )) "Now we can negotiate".
This picture has been carried on as a project on cgtalk.com in the wip section (but hasn't been published anywhere as a finished piece) where I've had the greatest pleasure of meeting cool people who helped me improve this picture stage by stage. Big thanks to all the guys! - here is the link if you'd like to see the process [link]
Painted with Wacom Intuos 3
And just to make it clear - it is me - that's what I do look like (well except for the really long hair - my hair are just long)
*UPDATE :
1. I submitted DETAILS of "Now we can negotiate" So if you'd like to see them check here [link]
2. We've just had a small and interesting chat with =Lehaxy which kind of gave me this idea that I should treat this photo as an application for a job in a new "Pirates of the Carribean" most likely for Jack's long lost Sister.
Sooo. If anyone responsible for casting to this movie is hanging somewhere around here - here I am! I speak english (like an american girl - so they say - I mean - american people have told me so a couple of years ago , I was an actress once (so what if that was just a highschool theather) - I am crazy, modest (not now apparently an I look cool with a gun ;D

I adore how you've handled the background on this. I have an awful tendency to overwork the rendering on my pieces, but this is a masterpiece of implied details. The fact that there's no definite horizon line works wonders to direct the flow of the eye. And it's a small detail, but I also appreciate that the gun is held so loosely, yet still aimed at center mass. Goes a long way toward selling the confidence of the character. Well done, and I hope I can get this good someday
This is an incredible work of art. You did an amazing job! I noticed the detail right away, remarkable. You are quite the artist. The model is lovely as well. I'll come and see your building in San Francisco when it's finished.
